We are grateful for the natural resources we are able to use so that we are able to grow successfully. That's why we want to give something back to nature this year - maybe now more than ever.
Instead of sending Christmas cards, we are funding the reforestation of mangroves in Myanmar. Two new mangrove trees are planted symbolically for every Christmas card that we have not printed, written and sent.
Our donation is helping to replant precious mangrove forests in Myanmar. They help to protect against soil erosion, support local small businesses and contribute to the fight against global warming. Together, we will ensure that more harmful CO2 can be absorbed. In fact, mangroves are capable of absorbing four times more CO2 than rainforest trees. For example, just two mangrove trees can absorb up to one metric ton of CO2.
The Belgian organisation WeForest has been working together with the Global Climate Institute in Denmark for several years now to ensure sustainable reforestation in many countries throughout the world.
We are convinced that if everyone can give back even a small part of what they use, we can make the world a better place.
